Trans People Are Here To Stay – Always Have Been, and Always Will Be!
This button counters the recent attempted erasure of trans lives in the form of bathroom bills, hormonal care bans, sports restrictions, attacks on LGBTQIA+ youth, and other legislative and societal bigotry. No matter what, we’re not going anywhere – we’re here to stay!
The art on the button is originally from RLM’s poster Pride At Work. It shows people holding signs honoring two huge turning points in trans and queer struggle: Stonewall in 1969, and the ACT UP iconography of “Silence = Death” from the late 80’s and early 80’s, facing down the AIDS epidemic. The latter is echoed today in responses to the ongoing COVID pandemic.
